I am so thankful for many things in my life. One of the newest additions to my always-growing and never-ending list is my Core Group at CBS (Community Bible Study). I began CBS in September just a few short weeks after I moved here. I was a little bit reluctant to go because:
1. My mother signed me up for it.
2. I wanted to be apart of a Sunday school bible study and how would I ever be involved in both?
3. Upon attending my first week, everyone in my group was at least 50 years old. That's like 30 years older me. THREE. ZERO. And that's the youngest lady in here. How could I ever relate with these sweet grandmothers? Honestly, why has God placed me in this group when there are other groups with young mothers?
Well, I decided I'd just go for the bible study and not so much the fellowship part of it and went anyway.
This morning CBS didn't meet because we were off most of December. My core group leader invited us to her house to fellowship instead. Because all of the sweet women in my group are well-seasoned and wise, they always have much to share and consequently we don't finish going over our lesson during our core group time. At our little get-together, the ladies were able to share their stories. Each unique and inspiring - it didn't matter their age. The similarity we all had was Jesus was our Lord and Savior and that is enough.
I was humbled. Thank you Lord for CBS.
