Spanish Update

I have been holding off on an update because not much has changed. Well, Spanish has continually gotten worse but it started out sucking and it still sucks, so no change there.

Today however, I experienced the worst day yet. To begin I must first give you some background...

Yesterday Mr.Henson canceled class!!!! Now usually when this happens I get frustrated the teacher failed to inform me by email in advance so I wouldn't have to drive all the way to school just to see the note on the door...The note however, was like a gift from God. I kid you not, I left jumping and skipping with joy. I even sent a text message to my family in effort to include them in my excitement. So anyway, the note that was on the door said (in Spanish) that class was canceled and to check our e-mail for our assignment. Our assignment was to define terms he listed about moderniso and he said he'd give us credit for identifying the terms. So I printed the email and began writing my answers from my research on wikipedia.

Today, I walked in to class and my teacher, was picking up yesterday's assignment. I watched the other students turning in their assignments and must have has a nervous look on my face because he looked at me and said "What?" "My terms aren't in MLA format," I said.

At this point, he began personally attacking me for being unable to read his mind (through e-mail) and know I was supposed to use MLA format in defining the terms. He literally yelled at me for what felt like an eternity (which was probably only 3 minutes). When I was trying to explain that I defined the terms as I would have in class (everyday in class, he gives us a list of terms that he then lectures us on...which we take down notes on the handout) had he been there, he got onto me for being defensive. I'm sitting there while he is hovering over me yelling. Now I'm totally defenseless. Even though he asked why I wouldn't type out the terms and definitions, he yells when I try to explain why.

He continued on with a question, "What should you do when you are unsure of what to do?"
A day or two before he lectured us on pleasing the teacher, doing whatever the teacher likes. So my answer was whatever pleases you.
He immediately shouted back, "YEAH, IF YOU WANNA BE SNOTTY!!"
Shortly I found out that the correct answer was to ask.

I managed to hold back the tears long enough for him to finish what he was saying to me and move on to making it a lesson for the whole class to learn. I kept my head down rifling through my back in search for a Kleenex as the tears began streaming from my face. They continued for about an hour and a half (class is 2 hours) while he lectured on modernismo. I didn't raise my head the entire class.
