Rules of the Road

So as most of you know, I will be making yet another trip south to Arkansas/Texas when my nephew Valin is born. I'm very excited about getting to meet him ad spend time with him. I am not however, looking forward to the drive.

I made the drive a few short weeks ago when taking the trip for 2 of Linc's baby showers and a bridal luncheon for Jade.

Just so you get an idea about how horrible the drive is, imagine sitting in one placed trapped with bags all around you for 14 hours. We drove through the night so that Kinley could sleep. Great for her, terrible for us. The trip down there was actually fine. Mom drove from 6pm-2am (8 hrs) then we switched and I drove the rest of the way from 2am-8am. Mom drove longer, I drove the harder shift. It worked out.

On our way home, our trip wasn't so easy. We left around 5pm from Memphis. Mom drove the first shift until about 1am. Now before I tell you how long I drove remember that we have been away from home for 2 weeks, sleeping in a total of 5 different beds throughout those weeks. Who gets good sleep in a strange bed? Not me. So I was very tired from the past crazy weeks. Well anyway, I drove until I couldn't drive anymore...until 4am. At this time we found a Holiday Inn and spent the night 3 hrs from home. Sad story we couldn't make it the rest of the way but Mom and I were both beat we couldn't hardly keep our eyes open much less our brains focused on the road.

Now I have a fun little clip of what the trip was like to give you some insight into what was going on that day...

WARNING: This clip is Rated PG. (NOT G, Kinley isn't allowed to watch it)

ATTENTION ALL DRIVERS:

The far left lane is for passing only.
Learn that or else you might have to encounter "Suzie with an Attitude" and she isn't sweet.

Happy Driving
